Welcome to Bugei Fever! “Bugei” (武芸) is a Japanese word for martial arts (literally “warrior arts”) and “Bugei Fever” is a play on words, comparing “Boogie Fever”, the hit song from the mid-70s, with my feelings about the martial arts.
In the song, the singer’s girlfriend can’t stop dancing - “She’s got the boogie fever.” Likewise, I can’t get enough of the martial arts. I’ve got the bugei fever! (And I hope you do too.)
